Tzedakah

• It is advisable to give the upholders of the Torah, Talmidei Chochamim in order to secure a Tikkun for one's soul. Chaunkah represents the Salvation of the Torah.

  The mitzvohs of Chanukah demonstrate that our Judaism remained intact. The light of the candles =Torah, the Hallel and Hodaya (added into the prayers)= Avodah, Tzedakah=Gemilus Chasadim. =Tzedakah. So it is good the minhag of youths poor ones going around fro Tzedaka.

• Nes Chanukah (the Miracle of Chanukah) in Hebrew is the numerical equivalent of Tzedakah - 199.
• Yaacov injury on the though was the debilitation of he support of the Torah. Chanukah and Purim are Netzach (eternity, victory), and Hod (splendor) the two thighs, or foundations. Giving Tzedakah on Chanukah can heal the injury that Yaacov sustained.
• An aspect of the mitzva of the 4 cups of wine on Pesach is learned from Chanukah!
  The community is obligated to provide for the poor enough oil to light the menorah since the mitzva of Chanukah is to publicize the miracle of Chanukah. Everybody has a part in that miracle. The 4 cups represent the 4 expression of redemption that the emerging Jewish people experienced during the Exodus from Egypt. There is no greater miracle than that Exodus, and we are instructed to make the seder and read the Haggadah to publicize it. Since we must provide the poor with oil to publicize the miracle on Chanukah, so too we learn that we must provide them with wine for the 4 cup in order to proclaim the of the Exodus.
